Does the Spa provide any amenities or should I bring my own items?
Shambala provides our clients with robes, cover-ups, hair coverings and towels. In our restroom, we provide a hair dryer, combs, deodorant, mouthwash, soap, lotion, shampoo & conditioner.
Is it ok for ladies to receive treatments during their period?
Yes it is fine to receive massage, facials, body treatments, manicures & pedicures. The aromatherapy oils may also cause some ladies to have a much heavier flow.
Can I apply my gift certificate to another service?
Our staff are independent contractors, they operate their own businesses, if a gift certificate indicates a particular staff person then the gift certificate can be redeemed for any service provided by that staff person. If the service value is more than the gift certificate value, you will be asked to pay the difference. If the service is less than the gift certificate you will have a credit balance that can be redeemed with a later service date.
Can I give my gift certificate to a friend and/or family member?
Yes you can. When they arrive the day of their service they must give the gift certificate to the staff person.
I have some credit left on my gift certificate; can I use that towards my tip to my service provider?
Yes.
Is it best to eat right before or after my services?
It is best to eat 30-45 minutes before your services or have a light meal just before. There should be no problem having a meal after your services are completed.
Do you offer lunch or catering?
Shambala offers coffee, teas, water and little treats at all times. If you are planning to have a Day of Beauty or Spa Party, we can arrange to include a light meal or order in for you, this must be pre-arranged with at least 24 hours notice. This will be provided to you and your party at an additional cost, depending upon your request.
Is it best to shave before any of your treatments?
We recommend that you do not shave before any waxing or sea salt scrub appointments. If you shave before your wax treatment, you must have at least 1-2 inches of hair in order to wax. Be aware that shaving may cause in hair growth and irritation. Shaving will cause irritation during the sea salt scrub treatment.
It is best for men to shave their facial area in the morning and to book their facial in the afternoon or evening. This way, their skin will not be sensitive during the facial, and the skin will still be smooth enough for the esthetician to perform the treatment comfortably for the gentleman.
I'm pregnant, what types of treatments can I receive?
We recommend that you speak directly with your service provider to address the specific treatments that you are wanting that your individual needs are met during this exciting time of pregnancy. (Note: All massage treatments for pregnant woman can only be performed once she has entered her second trimester.
Is it ok for anyone underage to receive treatments?
We will cater to clients under 16 if they are accompanied with an adult or provide us with a signed consent from their guardian.
What is your policy on Lost Gift Certificates?
We will try and work with you as best as possible, if we have the name of the person who purchased the gift certificate and an approximate date of purchase, we will check our files to ensure that we have record of the gift certificate.
What do I do if I am not happy with my product?
All products returned unopened will be refunded. If you would become dissatisfied with any product purchased, please do not hesitate to contact us. If the product was purchased via mail, the client has 10 days to ship it back to us.
Should I tell my service provider if I'm using any prescription medicine?
Yes. Absolutely. This information is very important to all treatments at Shambala Day Spa. It will be held in the strictest of confidence. Please inform your service provider of any and all medications that you are currently taking prior to treatment. A brief intake form will be provided and reviewed by all new clientele.
Do you offer acrylic nail service at your spa?
No.We offer natural nail services only. At Shambala Day Spa, we believe in natural products and treatments that enhance the client's mind, body and spirit. We offer a peaceful environment where clients can de-stress and revitalize themselves away from the hectic life outside.
Do you provide parking? Are there parking lots by your locations?
We have 6 parking spaces right outside our door.
If these spaces are not available, street side parking is encouraged, there is also overflow parking in front of the Wedding Chaple just beyond the 11th Street corner of Michigan Ave.
